DESCRIPTION:

Live Gamer has immediate openings for Junior Software Engineers. We’re looking for people who love to code, who want to learn from one of the best teams in the business, who already know either PHP or Java, and who are excited by the opportunity to learn the other. You’ll start at Live Gamer working on payment gateways, integrations, or QA. After learning the application and architecture, and demonstrating exceptional ability, you will be transitioned into platform engineering. Recent or pending College Graduates are Encouraged to Apply!

REQUIREMENTS:

You should be smart, capable, hard-working, detail-oriented, skilled at communicating, and willing to do what it takes to accomplish a goal (it might be writing some example code, and documenting it, it might be integrating a custom payment method, it might be... the only guarantees we make are that you will be coding at least half of the time, that you will be learning constantly, and that you will be adding value to the business on a daily basis). You should also enjoy working in a fun, fast-paced, and sometimes stressful environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Java-oriented candidates must have:

• 1-2 years of experience with Java development and Eclipse.
• Experience with JSPs, MVC, and Hibernate.
• Experience working with JDBC, JUnit, REST-style APIs, and Ant.

PHP-oriented candidates must have:

• 1 to 2 years of writing web-based PHP applications.
• Experience working with Javascript, HMTL and CSS (no tables for layout and knowledge of a library like Y!UI are required).
• Experience with Memcached.
• Experience consuming a REST-style api.
